Principal Contracting

Capital offer a comprehensive service for the repair and restoration of structural envelopes . Often acting as principal contractor and managing all supporting trades, including but not limited to, complex scaffolding installations and scaffold design, roofing, asphalting, leadwork, joinery repairs, redecoration, internal refurbishment and mechanical and electrical elements.
We operate using project management software that centralises processes and systems, allowing us to meet the demands of modern principal contracting, whether that be management of the supply chain, commercial and risk management or health, safety and environmental management, our system provide organisation wide transparency and accountability and allows our clients to monitor real time progress.
Cleaning & Restoration

Over the last 20 years Capital Stone have completed numerous cleaning & restoration projects and are skilled in the use of traditional materials such as stone, brick, terracotta and stucco. Whilst we always seek to adopt a 'minimum intervention' approach to repair, sometimes wholesale replacement is unavoidable and our craftsmen are capable of achieving the highest level of finish. Where appropriate, we are able to provide detailed analysis of existing building materials and utilitise our extensive network of suppliers to source new material that matches existing elements.
Where facade cleaning is required, we still practice the traditional Mason’s Nebulous cleaning process where requested, but this has largely been superseded by the introduction of the innovative high temperature steam cleaning systems, such as Theromtech and DOFF. We are trained users of this equipment as well as the JOSS/TORC system.
Consultancy

Our team possess 280 years of combined practical heritage restoration experience, our knowledge base is extensive and our passion for the restoration process is unrivalled. We advise many architects and planning consultants on applications for Listed Buildings and when dealing with conservation officers. In practice, often one expert talking the ‘same language’ as the conservation officer or planner, can prevent any misunderstandings and provide the confidence that our client understands their requirements prior to permission being granted.
From concept to completion Capital offer a comprehensive service ensuring value engineering and upfront specialist advice can all be incorporated into the successful planning and design stages of a project early on.
Where new build masonry is required, we are able to assist with material selection and can offer advice on the detailing of stone profiles, sizes and joint patterns as well as the consideration of best practice in relation to fixing systems. Our in house design team are able to provide specialist upfront advice on specification and technical aspects of new build projects.
